DESCRIPTION:
Full top picatinny rail for optional attachments
Quick Detach Mounts are built into the handguard at the rear positions
M-LOK attachment points are located at the 45 and 90 degree flats (7 Sides)
Build in anti-rotations tabs
The barrel nut requires a standard AR-15 armorers wrench
The handguard set screws should be torqued evenly to 35 INCH LBS with blue removable loctite applied
The barrel nut must be torqued to a minimum of 38 FOOT LBS
Installation should be complete by a gunsmith.

I don't care at all for the clamp on rails or the very thin rails. This one is very close to the Aero rails I like but much less cost. So far so good I like it.

5 of 5 Another MAS Defense handguard for me! November 19, 2025

This is my fifth handguard from MD. I needed a shorter version of my previous handguard to accommodate a suppressor heat shield where I previously had the can tucked. Tucked looked nice and works great on my 300 but on my 556 the can gets too hot too fast and I wanted to both use heat wrap on the guard and the can itself (to be able to remove it and check tightness while hot). No issues swapping as the barrel nut was the same. I do wish the octagon guard didn’t have the diagonal cuts that makes them unusable for mlok devices like grips and such. On the shorter guards this is even more of an issue. Other than that great price, quality, weight, finish etc as always.

This is the 3rd handguard I’ve bought from MAS. They have awesome, unique styles, of perfectly fitted sizes. Like this 9.87” perfectly fits a 10” with just enough room for the neck of a suppressor. Or for recessed suppressors it fits inside because they considered the diameter of all compatible suppressors. They thought these through far ahead. I couldn’t be happier with how these builds come out using their products. Well built, and Top Tier!
